Sammy Hagar sings "Birthday" for The Art of McCartney
Sammy lended his voice to the recently released compliation called "The Art of McCartney". As the name implies, this compilation showcases well-known songs from McCartney's career with tributes from many exceptionally talented artists, such as Bob Dylan, Brian Wilson, the Cure, & Kiss.
Sammy contributed his voice to the 42 track collection by singing "Birthday" and says he's still a "little shocked" that he was asked to participate in the first place. On getting into the album, Sammy mentioned in a Rolling Stone interview, "I've thrown a birthday party in Cabo every year for 25 years, so I'm pretty much a birthday celebration guy. "Birthday" is a good screamer and nice fit for my voice, and the guitar riff is really nice."

The Art Of McCartney is a very special project celebrating the songs of Sir Paul McCartney. The caliber of artists showing their respect to Paul’s songwriting genius on The Art of McCartney is staggering with Bob Dylan, Billy Joel, The Cure, The Who’s Roger Daltrey, Brian Wilson, Alice Cooper, Dr John, Yusuf, Barry Gibb, Jamie Cullum, Kiss, Chrissie Hynde, ELO legend and Beatles producer Jeff Lynne and many more recording McCartney classics exclusively for this album.

Sammy the birthday song fits you perfectly. Sounds great can't wait to hear the whole song. Just maybe we will get to hear you play the birthday song at one of your shows. That would be awesome! ~ Ang
