in 1976 I had just released the red album. I was playing one of my first concerts in Seattle Washington supporting that record with the song RED being the single. The next morning, I was checking out of the hotel and John pruner the man in these photos, stopped me and asked for an autograph on the newspaper review of the concert. he asked me to sign it. "the Red Rocker" that was the beginning of being the Red Rocker. John became maybe the first redhead before the fans became redheads. He followed me around the country showing up everywhere. I got to know him well.

Yesterday, April 30, 2024 will be one of the highlights of my musical life if not THE! Being honored like that in front of my family and more friends than I thought I had, touched my heart so there is no word that can come close to saying what I felt and am still feeling. I was so worried that I wasn't going to make it through the performance emotionally. It was hard for me working up to it. When I hit the stage with Toby's wonderful band that I played with many times over the years, the audience, energy, enthusiasm, and love that filled that building every tear of sadness into joy. It was a beautiful experience to say the least, so proud and honored to have been invited. We all miss that bigger than life, wonderful man, Mr. Toby Keith. A.k.a. #BigDogDaddy.

This is Cindi, a longtime redhead that passed away today. She got to attend the 2023 Birthday Bash, which was her ask. Dustin Meeker (long time Cabo Wabo Chef through the 80s) and Jorge Viana helped make sure she got in and was taken care of for the bash. A true Redhead. Not only a huge loss to the music industry but to the United States of America. Toby was a true full-time supporter of democracy and freedom. I hear a 21-gun salute to Big Dog Daddy. I first met Toby in September 2001 in Las Vegas and while I know a lot of people, I don’t have that many friends. I just lost one of them. Our love & prayers are with his family.
