I got to see Sammy tonight at the Borders in NYC - I happened to be up here this week and what a treat. As Sam came in, people were kind of laid back. Not me. As soon as he got near, I said rather loudly "KSHE-95 is in the house!" I grew up in St. Louis and still stream KSHE all the time on my computer or iPad. Sammy just laughed, shook my hand, and said he couldn't believe it! He was really great again when he signed two copies of his book for me. I told him that it was hard to believe that it was 32 years ago last week that he opened for Boston in St. Louis. Anyone else remember that show? Towards the end, Sammy said that he was told that next time he came to STL, he was going to be the headliner. The place went nuts. I honestly remember very little about Boston that night, but I sure remember that Sam stole the evening! Sam told me to write about it on the website, so there you go.

Thanks a bunch for doing this tonight Sammy - all of us really appreciated it, and knowing that you did ABC, Howard Stern, another signing in Jersey - it was great that you came out as you had to be shattered, buddy!
