Because of Sammy and his wonderful son Aaron, my book DANCE OF THE ELECTRIC HUMMINGBIRD is now an award-winning memoir!

Recently, DANCE OF THE ELECTRIC HUMMINGBIRD was nominated in multiple categories for a 2013 CIPA EVVY Award. Merely to be nominated is a tremendous honor, but during the awards ceremony on May 18, 2013, CIPA judges chose DANCE OF THE ELECTRIC HUMMINGBIRD from among thousands of entries to win the "Merit Book" award in the category of Autobiography/Memoirs.

I owe this tremendous honor to the fact that Sammy not only personally encouraged me to keep writing, to tell my story, but he also gave me permission to use his likeness and song lyrics in my book. And now it is an award-winning novel! I couldn't have accomplished all this without Sammy, Aaron and all of YOU! DANCE OF THE ELECTRIC HUMMINGBIRD continues to be testimony to the power of believing in yourself and in the power of your dreams. And in the kindness and unselfishness of a big rock star (Sammy) who did so much for an ordinary person (me) and helped make my lifelong dream of being a writer come true.
