Wow what a vaction!!! To celebrate our 10th Anniversary my wife, Sabrina, surprised me with my first trip to Cabo from July 19-24. What an incredible place! We stayed at the Villa del Palmar Cabo San Lucas...about a 5 minute cab ride from the Cantina. The people of Cabo were amazing, the weather was great (not too hot) and the food was incredible.

I discovered at least 2 things that Sammy said about Cabo are true... (1) Land's End, you have to see it because no picture ever does say it right. (2) You go there once, you'll be there twice. I plan on going back many times...we even bought a time share while we were there!!

Finally getting a chance to go to the Cantina was the best part for me. I waited over 20 years to see the place and it didn't disappoint. Cabo Uno (the house band) was there on the 20th and they rocked! They even played "Finish What Ya Started" acoustically as a request from my wife and I when I asked to hear a Sammy song.

We went back two nights later and saw another band. When I asked them to play a Sammy song they said they would and I asked if there was any chance I would be allowed to sing with them. To my surprise the guitarist said "sure"! On thier 3rd set they broke into "Rock Candy" and they waved me up to the stage...what a thrill! It was an absolute honor to stand on Sammy's stage and sing the first song he ever wrote with the cover band. For me it was a dream come true!

Sammy, if you read this, thanks for creating such an awesome place in a tropical paradise. I'll see you in DC on the 29th!
