Hey, just read your review. Wish I would have known that b4 my incident. Went to Cabo this past April and missed Sammy by a week... too late. Been there once ..will be there twice.
I attended this show with my family & a group of friends. I have seen Sammy many many times early solo. with Van Halen & w/ the Wabos & I must say this was probaly the best I've ever seen him. The Wabos were super tight & Sammy was Jammin' as good as he was if not better than 30 yrs. ago. His voice & gutair playin' was awesome & he was loaded with energy & ready to party. Totally gets the crowd, which was anywhere between 20-25 thousand strong, into the show with plenty of crowd participation. The set list he played was very good. Wish he would of threw a Chickenfoot tune in too & was hopin' Michael Anthony would of been there too. They played Montrose. Van Hagar, early solo stuff & Wabos tunes & just plain rocked it the whole show. He truely is gettin' better with age. Still can't believe he's gonna be 63 latter this year. Got there about 6 hrs. b4 show time & sampled some of the food & drinks there b4 headin' over toward the stage & watched 3 local opening bands b4 the Red Rocker took the stage. We were really close upfront to the stage. Probaly 4-5 rows back on the right side of the stage right up against the center railings. Took tons of pics. I did not bring vid camera b/c last year went to see Heart at Ribfest & brought my vid camera & only got about 3 songs b4 security shut me down. A friend of ours brought her vid camera to Sammy's show & the same thing happened 2 her. Gotta get down 2 Cabo 4 his B-day bash 1 of these days. I bet that is a really party time down there. Seen him back in 2007 at the Rialto Theater in Joliet w/ Michael Anthony & the Wabos & he had his bikini bartender girls bringin' them drinks all nite. He had to tone it down a bit at Ribfest b/c of the family atmosphere there. His bartender girls were dreased in Cabo tank tops & cutoff jean shorts but still lookin' good & bringin' out the drinks. Anybody who went to this show & did not think he ROCKED & had a good time just does not know what a rockin' good time is all about. W/O U & Michael Anthony Van Halen is done. Stick a fork in them. Keep on Rockin' Sammy! U got it goin' on all the way my friend! Long live the Red Rocker!!
Sammy Hagar is the Jimmy Buffet of this generation! He has fun on stage and he makes his fans a number one priority. Anyone who's seen sammy live and didn't have a good time just doesn't know what fun is!
I took my 16 year old son to see Sammy at RibFest! He loved it! I have been a sammy fan since the early 80's. I became a Van Halen fan when the Red Rocker joined them. I will be a REDHEAD until the day I meet my maker! And then...I plan on making him a REDHEAD too! See ya in August at Fort McCoy!!!!
GREAT SHOW ! I brought my sons (20,22) to see my favorite performer and they were blown away. I have seen Sammy more times than I've got fingers and toes, I have ten of each. I wish at this performance he would have replaced "Whole Lotta Love" with Where Eagles Fly (acoustic version) , I was very surprised that Red was not in the set list anywhere. I know that if he played every great song in his history of music we would have been there all night, which would have been fine by me. Original start time was 8:30 and was changed to 8:00, thought this meant another 30ish minutes, I was totally jacked up for this. Got there at 1:15 sat(baked) seven hours in the beautiful sunshine for the event. So I was a little disappointed, I do mean a little. However, for a man that is about to turn 63, he played no ballad 87 minutes of jammin' ! I had 15 or so people that had never seen him live that now get my reason for not missing a show. Still need to get to Cabo For 10-13 !
It had been 2 years and 8 months since I last saw Sammy & the Wabos and it was my last hurrah in the REDhead world. Tonight's return could not have been better scripted the energy of the crowd, the band-playing better then ever, Sammy’s energetic spirit and THE WEATHER could have not been anymore perfect. To all of those who made the show hope you had a great time and to Sammy thanks for welcoming me back with your love and concern.
Sammy rocked it like he always does. I drove 3 hours to get there and would drive many more to see him again. Ive been a fan since 5150 came out when I was about 12 years old. Sammy keeps getting better with age. The Wabo's were awesome. See ya in August at Fort Mccoy
1 of the best Sammy Hagar solo shows in 10 years.Awesome setlist, 25,000 people packed shoulder to shoulder Rocin the start of another Rock and Roll weekend.
Great show and a most excellent experience! My sons have grown up not only listening to Sammy, but listening to my stories about his shows in Cabo and elswhere. I was finally able to bring them due to the type of venue and they rocked out! So great to share my love of Sammy with my sons! Show rocked. Sammy played more lead guitar than I have seen in many, many years and was rippin'! Voice sounded great and Wabos super tight. Man Sammy, you really do keep getting better with age, its gotta be the vitamin 'T'! While so many of my other favorites seem to be going through the motions of their catalog music, I feel like Sammy is playing with just as much enthusiasm and rock energy as he was 30 years ago! Thanks Sammy, much love my brother! I only wish there was merchandise for sale (I could not find any), so I could get the buys a couple of shirts.

I would have loved to be there, however Naperville ruined this for me(not Sammy)...family was dropped off by me 2 hours in advance to hold seats...I parked in shuttle bus area.....by the time I got to ribfest they had closed off access to the concert, my family inside with OK seats, me outside in a dangerous(Police words not mine) situation. I got sick of the "Cinnicinatti Who like Vibe" that was going on and called my family and pulled them out of there.....bad set up Naperville...and of course no refunds.......I avoided Ribfest my whole life and know I know why..........

As always Sammy didn't disappoint. Five rows back, Mona right in front of us, doesn't get any better than that.
