This song was revealed for the first time ever on a live performance on Dan Rather's "The Big Interview". The song finds Sammy reflecting on his inner child in an intimate solo performance just with his voice and his guitar. After performing it live for Dan Rather, he headed back to record it in his studio - "I wasn't as nervous as in the Dan Rather version!" he joked.
Here's what Sammy said about the creation of the new song, which came from family retreat.
"It's one of the most wonderful things I’ve ever done because I got to hear how my kids really think about their Mom and Dad...I’ve found out that all my problems are being caused in life by my inner child. That little guy that was hurt as a child, and felt those things. Even though I’ve accomplished everything and more than I could have ever dreamed, that little guy is still stirrin’ around in there, you know what I mean?"

My inner child is proud to be Sammy Hagar's number one fan in Brazil, having released all his albums in my country that were never released by record labels here (only 3 were released in Brazil), at a time when I was just a teenager who loved rock'n'roll. Today I'm cancer treatment, no income, no money, no government help, I can't go to my rock hero's show, but my inner child still smiles with happiness for helping Brazilian fans get to know Sammy Hagar long before he join Van Halen, Waboritas, Chickenfoot.

I heard this song on Youtube as soon as it was released by Sammy Hagar. One of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard.
Sammy Hagar is a name of Music that I bet in Brazil when I was a Rock Dj for 30 years. I released all of Sammy Hagar's imported albums in my country before Brazilian radio even discovered him in Van Halen's time, cause only three albums of his solo career was released in my country, but today, thousands of Sammy Hagar fans in Brazil love his musics and his bands, thanks to my work with my sound team in a simple ballroom founded in 1971.
By the way, this song should be recorded on next cd, of course!
