This is my first blog post here and I wanted to introduce myself. My name is Jake and I had the most absolutely crazy-lucky-wonderful thing happen to me. I won the Mercury Insurance/AXS-TV Birthday Bash sweepstakes. I'm still in disbelief! This is the first time I have ever won something like this. This will also be the first time that we have ever been Cabo San Lucas, although I have wanted to go what seems like forever. I have been a fan of Sammy from pretty much the time I was able to enjoy music and find what fits me.
So Funny. I am coming to BDAY BASH this year and totally pumped. I had a dream last night that I ran into Sammy at a bar and I was BEGGING him to sing 5150 at the birthday bash this year. I told him ALL his fans want to hear it. He was adamant in saying no! He wouldn't tell me why. So I just kept begging him.
Pretty funny. Hope my dream DOESNT came true and he sings it. WOULD BE EPIC!
"It's hard to believe it's been 26 years! Some of the most fun I've had in my life has been since the opening of the Cabo Wabo. I just spent a week down there celebrating the anniversary because I couldn't be there today... played the Cantina three times! The most fun is when nobody knows, I just walk out there, always a great feeling makes everybody so high. You can do no wrong on stage after that ha ha.
The discovery of a place like Cabo and the creation of the Cantina has created a lifestyle for me and hundreds of thousands of fans. Its one of those dreams I never dreamt would come true. I don't know where I would be in my life or how I would even dress if it weren't for that lifestyle change.

On Tuesday, Joe had a major heart attack and is in a hospital bed in Omaha fighting to recover. I know he probably has an account here, but I don't know what it is.
I just wanted Sammy to know and keep Joe in his prayers.
Last night was the unofficial 26th anniversary of the Cabo Wabo Cantina. I played with Cabo Uno to a packed house. The Cantina filled up early like a birthday bash, we had to shut down the entrance at 8 PM.
Lots of redheads came down, it was as close to the birthday bash as it gets -- I loved it. The real anniversary is Sunday the 17th, but I will be doing the John Varvatos Stuart house event in Los Angeles with Mikey, Vic, and Chad, but I bet there's a hell of a party at the Cantina.
