Red and Gone!

On my way into the arena last night, I heard an excited fan shouting, “I love Sammy Hagar” as I picked up a delicious Beach Bar Rum Punch to enjoy before the show.

Sammy Hagar, “The Red Rocker” performed live at Harveys Summer 2012 Concert Series in the last event of the summer in the Harveys Outdoor Amphitheater, Stateline, Nevada.

There was no opening act needed to warm up the audience. The fans were already reved up with the promise of being part of Sammy’s self-proclaimed “greatest music party ever” when Sammy and the Wabos took the stage at 8pm.

“This event will surpass my birthday bash,” shouted Sammy to the cheering audience.

The evening was definitely a Love Fest for Sammy, his band members, and his enthusiastic fans – with the popular set list highlighting his music and bands throughout his legendary career.

Sammy said he had been nervous all week about the upcoming concert – and quipped that he even rehearsed for last night’s “Four Decades of Rock,” performance.

“When I have to rehearse, its getting to be like work.”

Hagar was warm, energetic and upbeat as usual - and he looked fit and glowing with health.

Sammy and his band played through four decades of his music during the evening – and the sold-out audience loved every minute of the show that covered his career and music from Montrose to the Beach Bar Rum Bash.

When the concert ended, the happy crowd gravitated into Harveys Resort Casino and the after-party bash at Cabo Wabo, Sammy’s cantina in the casino.
