Rock & Roll and politics should not have been mixed on this night

Sammy, Mike, Jason and Vic rocked the house last night at Fantasy Springs Casino in Indio, CA.
Tunes from the Redrocker, Van Hagar and Led Zep kept us smiling from ear to ear. Each next song made you appreciate the talent up there even more.
You know that disappointing feeling you get when the house lights come back on? This is when the evening took its turn.
First, I cannot believe the show was a mere hour and a half. An hour and a half! It takes longer to get to this place for nearly everybody in attendance (for those who don't know where Indio is, let's just say, that's why you don't know where Indio is). Rock and roll talent like this, with the catalogs of music to chose from, should not start at 8:30 and be done by 10pm (this being in the middle of a holiday weekend too). I appreciate the show being an evening with the boys, but come-on, play longer or give us a decent opener.
With the ending coming so quickly, we could have pissed and moaned on the long drive home, but we would have been saying "yeah, but if freakin rocked! This song jammed. That song was so unexpected, They tore it up". That's what we woulda talked about.
Instead, the night got ugly as Sammy's guest, George Lopez took his turn with the mic at night's end and used it to share his political beliefs. "f**k Donald Trump, f**k Donald Trump, f**k Donald Trump" he would go on chanting.
Now I am not a Trump fan myself, but the point is, George, you're a guest of the band tonight and I could look past your background vocals for I Can't Drive 55, Whole Lotta Love and others, but why you gotta lay your beliefs on all of us here who are just trying to have a great evening?
Sammy, Mike, I've seen so many of your shows over the many years and you have never, ever, disappointed (Mike, you know I am a huge fan. We spoken many times in your entryway). Last night though, I gotta say, the mood went from euphoria to shaking my head in a matter of minutes (and this is once the show ended).
I realize there are some things you can't control, and in George's case, it seemed he was on his own mission, but you could have given us a few more songs to seal the deal on a spectacular evening. Most of us had a 1-1/2 to 2 hour drive each way to come see you, at least entertain us for that length of time.
I was still great to see you and look forward to other events. You know occasionally your favorite restaurant isn't on their game, but they don't stop being your favorite.
Cheers to the next show,
Steve
