Sammy and Kari joined Chantel Schuering from FIND Food Bank/Feeding America at the Fantasy Springs Resort in Indio, CA last month. To kick off the campaign for this important cause, Sammy donated a generous amount to the organization and made his pledge known through their "paper plate advocacy"! 

This is what the FIND Food Bank had to say about working with Sammy:
"This was our first interaction with Sammy and the Hagar Family Foundation.  We were thrilled that his representatives reached out to FIND food Bank. Sammy is a wonderful advocate in the fight to end hunger-- having experienced food insecurity as a child. In the Coachella Valley, $1 provides 7 meals, this means that because of Sammy's generous donation, many children in our community will not have to go to bed hungry. Not only are we grateful for his donation, but also for his support during Hunger Action Month, which will bring further awareness to the issue of food insecurity."

During the month of September, we will be promoting Hunger Action Month^TM 2016. Hunger Action Month^TM is a national call to action in the fight against hunger across the US, where more than 45 million people struggle with food insecurity on a regular basis. Locally, our community-based network distributes 10+ million pounds of food assistance annually to an average 85,000 people each month — that’s 1 in 5 valley residents. Clearly, this is a community problem that requires a community solution. The goal is to generate awareness and offer examples of ways to get involved in the fight against hunger (ie., share our posts on your social media, donate, volunteer, etc.).
