LOS CABOS Celebrates Sammy Hagar
On December 5, 2006 the Municipality of Los Cabos represented by Mayor Luis Armando Diaz, the secretary of tourism of Baja California Sur and CANIRAC (Los Cabos Restaurant and bar association) will honor Sammy Hagar in a Dinner for his promotion of tourism and achievements in the community of Los Cabos and the state of Baja California Sur. The event will take place at Playa El Tule in the corridor of Cabo San Lucas and will showcase over twenty local restaurants providing their best dishes, four bands performing Jazz, Salsa and Rock & Roll and a presentation honoring Sammy Hagar from the Mayor of Los Cabos and other government officials.
Sammy Hagar is a professional musician whose career has spanned over four decades. His accomplishments include Montrose, Van Halen and a successful solo career. Sammy Hagar first came to Cabo San Lucas in the early 1980’s and fell in love with the area. Soon he would name Cabo his home and would write a song (Cabo Wabo) that would change his life and many others forever. According to the song “There’s a sleepy town, south of the border; you go there once you’ll be there twice”. He and many others have awakened this little town. That song has inspired a world famous nightclub, restaurant, clothing, tequila, and lifestyle shared by hundreds of thousands of patrons each year. Through Cabo Wabo Sammy Hagar has promoted Los Cabos and the state of Baja California Sur with great success.
