Van Halen Acoustic "Cabo Wabo" - Happy Anniversary Cabo Wabo Cantina
"It's hard to believe it's been 26 years! Some of the most fun I've had in my life has been since the opening of the Cabo Wabo. I just spent a week down there celebrating the anniversary because I couldn't be there today... played the Cantina three times! The most fun is when nobody knows, I just walk out there, always a great feeling makes everybody so high. You can do no wrong on stage after that ha ha.
The discovery of a place like Cabo and the creation of the Cantina has created a lifestyle for me and hundreds of thousands of fans. Its one of those dreams I never dreamt would come true. I don't know where I would be in my life or how I would even dress if it weren't for that lifestyle change.
I thank the fans and the staff at the Cantina from the bottom my heart, Michael Anthony, Eddie and Alex, and my partners Marco, Jorge, and all the staff (some that have been there 26 years) - it's awesome! thank you, thank you, thank you!" - Sammy
The Cabo Wabo Cantina opened its doors in April 1990 and Van Halen was there to throw a monster opening party. This is a clip of an acoustic Van Halen performance of the song "Cabo Wabo".

Unofficial 26th Anniversary of the Cabo Wabo Cantina ROCKED THE HOUSE!
Last night was the unofficial 26th anniversary of the Cabo Wabo Cantina. I played with Cabo Uno to a packed house. The Cantina filled up early like a birthday bash, we had to shut down the entrance at 8 PM.
Lots of redheads came down, it was as close to the birthday bash as it gets -- I loved it. The real anniversary is Sunday the 17th, but I will be doing the John Varvatos Stuart house event in Los Angeles with Mikey, Vic, and Chad, but I bet there's a hell of a party at the Cantina.
Cabo Wabo Cantina 26th Anniversary Off To a Great Start!
I did a surprise acoustic set with the band Sister Dass tonight at the Cabo Wabo Cantina. We played 45 minutes to 100 surprised guests. It was fantastic - I've never done that patio thing in 26 years. Wow, be doing some more of that! Ps. Blew the PA up on Red Voodoo oooops! Ha. 26th anniversary week starting off with a bang. See you all Wednesday with, Cabo Uno! - Sammy
Montessori Hale O Keiki has big plans to grow; in and beyond its current site in Kihei, but after weeks of searching could not find the environment they were looking for. When they heard of Sammy's home for sale in Ukumehame they made an offer and it was a match made in heaven. Sammy sold the 14-acre property and included a $250,000 donation that the school is already putting to great use. Watch this video to see the planned development of this amazing school.
Tickets sold out in 30 minutes this morning! We'd like to thank everyone who is coming and helping support the UCSF Benioff Children's Hospital - together we are making a difference and we are going to make some amazing memories at this show!
