I will never forget this wonderful day ever!!! It was such a great honor to see my favorite rocker!!!
I love you Sammy!!! xoxoxox
The book signing on 3/20 was awesome!!!!I was very pleased. Sammy showed up at the store about 4:45pm to do intervews and take some press pictures. We were brought in out of the rain and into the store about 4:55pm. We were standing inside watching Sammy sign the book and take pictures(i was about 6th in line) I got my video camera out to take a video of Sammy and the security imediatly informed everyone that absolutly no pictures were to be taken. Someone in line had a flyer that said we could take pictures. The security took the flyer and went and asked if pictures would be permitted. He came back and said (and I quote) "This flyer is bullsh!t" no pictures are permitted in the store. (my heart sank as did everyone around me) I had so wanted to get a pic with Sammy & my kids. When my turn came they didnt even let all 4 of us go to the table at the same time, my wife and son had to stay back while me and my daughter went up, even though we all had books. So as I approched the table I turned my video camera on and held it by my side trying to get something on video. The security saw me and told me to turn it off. Sammy heard him and slyly asked me 'did you get a picture' I told him no not really, then he tells security 'its ok, let him take a picture, but only with kids, no adults' my wife saw this and tried to go past security to get my son in the pic they blocked her from walking up, but Sammy told her to come up to the table so we could get both kids in 1 pic' ...Sammy was awesome! Thank You soo much. taking that extra 20seconds really made my day (and my daughters day) she had been hoping to meet him all week. She kept telling me 'dad Im going to tell him, 'my favorite song is One Way To Rock' (she ended up being shy and didnt say it, and after we were back in the car she looked sad and said 'i didnt tell Sammy my favorite song') But for me I had an awesome time! The total time in front of Sammy was about 50-60secs (i got about 45 seconds on video) i uploaded some of it to the video section on this page. Also after Sammy took the pictures with my kids, I asked him if he could sign one of the books 'to Lyric' (my daughter) and he did. Also after we took our pictures one of the people with sammy said to the Book Soup security that it was ok to take pictures, just no posed pictures. I felt bad for the first 5 people in line didnt get to take any pictures. But at least that got straightened out fast.
Standing out in the pouring rain was just another adventure. It was well worth the wait to meet and shake hands with Sammy since I am and always have been one of his biggest fans. Love you Sammy! Love the book! Keep on Rockin!!!
Wish I could have been there!
Three hours standing in the rain was worth it to me. My wife, my kids and me all got our books signed and we even got one for my sister who couldn't make it. Sammy High fived me and I said "I'll see you in Tahoe Sammy" and he said he had some surprises planned for Tahoe this year. My son was the last one in my group, he had on a long sleeve Chickenfoot shirt and Sammy yelled out "I ain't signing no Chickenfoot!!" pretty funny. All in all it was real quick but worth it in my opinion.

P.S. I was the dumbass in line with no umbrella
The rain chased away the crowds and made the Book Soup signing great! We partied at Saddle Ranch til 4:30 and then stood in rainy, windy line w/ good natured fans! My husband & I got a lengthy exchange w/ Sammy, a high five for me and a HUG for my husband! Did kind stink that they told us at the last minute that we couldn't take any photos?? Even from a distance in line they kept asking us to put away or cameras. Gosh - how often do you get to meet a rocker and not at least let your friend take a pic as you speak to him? Other than that - I have to say that Sammy was personable, light hearted and genuinely nice guy! Looking forward to reading the book and seeing him live again soon! Thanks Sammy!
Actually, I don't think that any of this had to do with Sammy. I was at the Book Signing at Book Soup in Los Angeles on March 20. Sammy was cool - things were rushed, but he was cool. He shook my hand after I thanked him for all of the good times, and I saw him sign my book(s). I don't know how that other person at Book Soup didn't even see Sammy sign his/her book. That's strange because of the way that the line was organized. Either way, I know that Sammy is a busy guy, so, I understand needing to work the line quickly. I'm sure he's exhausted.
Anyway, I think that the problem with the signing on the 20th was with Book Soup. It seemed to me that they are kind-of pretentious.
I had previously purchased three copies (one for me and two for my brothers) of the book in a store at a Barnes and Noble near where I live (at full sticker price) to make sure that I had them in time for the Sunday Book-Signing, but, when I got to Book Soup, they demanded that I purchase the copies at their store, so, I had to purchase three ADDITIONAL copies of the book so that I could stand in line.
Nonetheless, after standing in line for an hour (or so), a tenant came out and told us that we could purchase a few more books (the original limit was 3) for signing if we wanted, so, I asked one of the desk-workers if I could bring my Barnes and Noble books in to be signed. They said "yes" (now you tell me!), but that I couldn't return the books that I had just purchased, and that I had to have them in hand, with the Book Soup receipt, to be in line.
So, now I have six copies of a book signed. I think that I'll be able to get a few of my Redhead friends to purchase them (at cost) from me, but, that is certainly a frustrating circumstance to have to deal with.
Book Soup (or someone) wouldn't let us take a photo though, and that was kind-of weak because the sign (and the postings) clearly stated that "no posed photographs will be permitted", but that doesn't mean that we can't take a friggin' photo. That was totally weak on someone's part that we couldn't even take a photo of Sammy Hagar from the line. WEAK!
I was a little dissapointed in the way we were shuffled through. It's not like there were 1000's of people...Could have taken a little extra time or allowed a posed picture! I'm so happy that I finally got to meet the "Red Rocker"
We were thinking two or three hours before as well.
I was thinking about 2 hours before as well, not like 10AM! yikes
I listen to M&B every single morning, until I go to work at 9AM! So I missed Sammy, of course. Hopefully they'll put the show on their website if they haven't already.
I hope they have all the "bugs" worked out by Sunday. How early is everyone thinking of arriving?? I am thinking two hours earlier.....
Should be fun thou, Sammy sounded great on Mark and Brian today!
So far from reading posts at signings...doesn't sound very organzied! :( How far ahead of signing time do you think it's necessary to arrive!? What a bummer if they take your book from you and you don't even get a 10 second chance to say HI! Maybe they'll have it figured out by Sunday.
We'll be at both signings, I just talked to a girl at Book Soup, She said they will have plenty of books and there's no need to pre- order..
I wonder if more people will be attending this signing than the one in Huntington the next night. Maybe I'll attend both!
