Hello
Just saw the concert last night in hershey.Till then i was an old fan of davis lee roth from his old van halen days, after seeing sammy...he definitly stold the show.I came primarily to see roth as i wasnt too firmiliar with Sammys music, not that i didnt like I cant drive 55 and some of the things he did with van halen, dreams etc. ,I am 46 and I cant ever remember having a better time in my life, he rocked from the minute he got on, his songs were great, the stage was great, I went home with a new apreciation for the"red rocker".He knows how to give the fans what they want, down to earth, good guy, he made roth look "second class" and that is being nice.Thank you Sammy and your band for a great time!!!!!

I just returned from seeing Hagar/Roth at Hershey Pa. All I can say is WOW! I felt fortunate to get to see Sammy close the show, and let me tell you it was best.
While Dave did put on a nice set of great Van Halen songs...it was even cool he pulled out some lesser known songs such as Atomic Punk, Little Dreamer, and Show Your Love...he lacked any enthusiasm or chemistry with his bandmates. He looked good and his voice sounded great, but there was no fire. He performed and left. Dave would be better suited to have a band together that works. His guitarist, while he is capable of playing Eddie note for note, was a true snore. It was good to see Dave, but it was not the same as it used to be for him.
On to Sammy. What a show. Quite simply Sammy rocked. High energy show with a great set. Sammy knows how to put on a show still. I have been a fan since Standing Hampton, and I can't say he has ever been better. The true greatness of it was he was having fun and you could tell. He had a much better crowd response and never seemed to slow down or lose crowd interest.
The only moment the crowd seemed to kind of lose interest, at least in the grass area, was during Eagles Fly. He quickly regained it though.
I would like to thank Sam and Dave for bringing a great show to Hershey. I truly enjoyed the evening. This was a great surprise birthday present for me.

A very short review of last night's show.
Sammy's band was louder, but they can't play VH material. Sammy needs to drop the extra pounds and lose the capri pants but his voice sounded good. He could choose better VH songs to play instead of the sappy love tunes.
Thank god for Dave.
Dave's voice isn't the same as it was 20 years ago, but it's plenty good to get the crowd jamming to classic VH. Hell, Eddie has a replacement hip and Alex wears a neck brace so these guys aren't spring chickens anymore. His band was very tight and played note for note all the classic VH. Wish he played more solo material.
Overall, I'd give the edge to Dave for his unbelievable physical condition and energy he brought to the stage. They should have done a song together to finish up the show.
